Forest Falls
Southern California, United States
The
waterfall was a little disappointing and yellow, but got some better ones at a
different angle farther up. Graffiti had been painted over everywhere, but tried
getting good pictures hiding all this.
It is
terrible the few waterfalls that exist in California, someone has to come along
and ruin the beauty of them with their graffiti, when there's already primed and
ready canvases available in abundance for creativity or marking. It would seem
there is a proper place for all styles of art. But the sky was incredibly blue!
Clouds were just amazing that day.
There
were many artistic swirling rocks here at Forest Falls, a little mountain town
near Yucaipa. Freeway 210, Exit E. Lugonia Ave, and follow the pretty mountain
road to the little forest town. If you forget your Forest Adventure pass, one is
available at the town general store to avoid a parking ticket.
Had to
edit out fences, people, telephone poles, and orange sunspots from certain
cameras used. Because of all the bad around, I took mostly rock pictures, and
was amazed at all the textures, ripples, and even sparkle that would be fun to
incorporate in paintings.
The
hike was short, but very uphill, so took it slow. Saw an ANT almost an INCH
long! Scary. I have never seen the sky so blue in this smoggy blur of California
where every picture is gray and muted.

The
sky was very painterly, stream flowing, snow on the mountains, and the amazing
rock texture designs could give inspiration for a watery style of painting,
similar to these rocks found on the way back through the riverbed. Not many
washes have cool artistic patterns in them, unless maybe a few catch the eye.
